My first blog post is an early one. I'm still on my first of two flights heading out to New Zealand. Over the last few days I've risen an elephant through the jungle, get up close and personal with a tiger (not as close as the guide however who decided to tickle it's balls...) and I've riden a quad bike through some dirt tracks and roads around Chiang Mai. This holiday is definitely gonna be a holiday of firsts. I've been in the country for less than 12 hours and already I've cracked open my own king prawns, ridden in the back of a pick up truck and received less than 50p's worth of currency back in note form. Today is Thai New Year and that means one thing - water fights. Apparently it started off as a tradition where you would flick a small amount of water over someone to wash away all the badness from the year before in order to start afresh for the new one. However that seems to have descended into mass water fights where weaponry includes buckets, water guns, hoses, oh and the river...
