My first blog post is an early one. I'm still on my first of two flights heading out to New Zealand. The brilliant thing about this flight has been the 8 hour sunset that has stayed with us through out the journey.
Setting off just prior to it starting and only after 8 hours are we beginning to see it dwindle. Every half an hour or so I've looked out to see it and it's always completely different. Coupled with the city lights below ice had some great views on this flight to LA. Passing through Canada and a small part of America so far, it's been a flight full of imagining what might lay below me. The curious stories of the millions of people I'm flying over and the fact that they'd never know I was looking into their village, their street or at their porch light, miles up above. I imagine leaving Los Angeles and arriving in Auckland will also provide a fantastic view of the world from above. I very much look forward to it. As you can probably tell.
Natures art at it's finest. And I'm fortunate to be able to say that I think I ain't seen nothing yet!
(Oh and that picture is of Las Vegas at night. The fact that my camera could pick up the lights as opposed to just showing a black picture tells you how bright the city really was from the plane.)
