hi guys!
Last night we had a good night at hostal So Be and met some cool ausies :)
Today we had a really cool day! We moved to a hostal called Hostal Sammy, we found it on the net and its alot cheaper from where we were staying...although it does show but its okay :) We were struggling with what to do in Santiago but looked up a few options but as its Easter Sunday we decided we´d go visit Virgin Mary - Cerro San Cristobal.
We got the CHILE UNDERGROUND! which was super cool & I didnt know other countries had underground like this, it is also known as Chile Metro :) It was cool and only 520 pesos...I dont think thats very much but I could be wrong, Adam is having to help me pay for things as it is baffling me!!
This took us to near Cerro San Cristobal where we caught a Funnicilar - a word i learnt today! - up to the top, it was like a big tram on a hill, it was cool but pretty sketchy cause if it rolled back down it wouldda been bad times!! When we got to the top it was like a little village but you could see for miles, it was so so cool! It was also boiling which made it better :) We ate some lunch - cheese sandwhiches which we brought from the supermartket down below and made them at the top! - overlooking Chile. However we were being overlooked
a) by virgin mary.
b) by policeman who ACTUALLY looked like the gestapo...Adam correctly pointed out there was a woman gestapo so it wasnt actually the gestapo.
c) people that thought they were safari keepers but were actually just weird.
we enjoyed our lunch, i did not enjoy the huge amount of pidgeons and then my saviour came along!! A boy about 8 or 9 had this drum attached to his back, and started playing and dancing in the middle of this little village sqaure and scared of ALL the pidgeons, I LOVED him!! and when he came round with his little hat I tipped him pesos... unfortuantley Adam had gone to get a drink so I could of tipped him like 6000000000 pounds.. I hope not, I didnt love him that much!
We walked up to the top to see the virgin mary and it was like an outside church, it was pretty busy being easter so we didnt hang around for too long but we walked to the top, took some photos and sat admiring the view. Its crazy how many people go to pray there though!
We decided instead of getting the Funnicilar back down we would walk, it was so warm and took us about 2 hours to get back to the metro station but it was really nice walking down being able to see all of Chile :)
- WEE if im still as fat as you when I get back I will personally let you dye my hair the same hideous colour yours is.......... ;) - MISS YOU LOTS :) !!! -
The language barrier is a bit hard here, they know ALOT less English than Peru.. nearly everyone speaks no English at all but we are getting by!
Im not sure what we have planned for tonight and tommorow yet, there is a bar here and a few more around and tommorow we might do a tour :)
Will blog again soon and think the pictures are uploding from these computers so will try do a few as and when!
Happy Easter :) :) :) - the Easter bunny brought Me & Adam a bar of chocolate to share which we ate last night hah.
ALSO CALLUM! I HAD AN ICE CREAM AND IT HAD SHREK ON IT! :))))))))
all our love everyday xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Grandma Have sent another email! I, too, needed the boy with the drum in Cambodia when we were on a lake and children came alongside in boats and tried to get us to photograph them with their snakes!!
