Yesterday morning we headed to Fernados to drop the keys, and his lovely friend Lily called a taxi for us :) as we dont speak spanish and you need reliable ones to go to the airport. We got to the airport and werent allowed to check in for FOUR hours... it drove me INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We wanted to get the other side and shop and eat but we bloody couldnt! However, we then did go the other side and grabbed some dinner and boarded the plane... an hour early because theyre were only 15 people on our flight! We were happily flying and we landed... 1 hour 40 minutes early............... AT THE WRONG AIRPORT! We landed at a place called Antofagasta Airport, here we had to do all of our immigration checks and then get back on the plane and wait over an hour for it to move, we were very tired and fed up of waiting and had no clue what we were gunna do last night when we arrived in Chile! We didnt even know what the currency was haha.
We landed in SANTIAGO airport.. the right one and go of and found a cashpoint.. it was all in Spanish, we went over to the airport hotel hoping they just take card.... they did take card and wanted to charg like 110 pound a night which we CAN NOT affford!!!!!!!!!!! We went back over to the airport and found these like taxi hotel men, they were really nice and helped us out alot by organising a taxi and hostel.... they spoke little bits of English which made it easier. One of them had to help me get cash out - dont worry Dadda he was an organised company and was really proffesional haha. I couldnt of done it otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!! - we chatted to them for a bit and they explained the currency.. its CRAZY! we have 10000 pesos notes and 50000 pesos notes... which sounds SO much in English money but out heres its not alot. However here in Chile is SO expensive compared to Peru which worried us a little bit as we didnt know we were here for so long!
So around 4am Chile time... 8am your time we got to a hostel called So Be, the man here spoke no English so instead he used Google Translator which made me laugh alot!! He showed us a room of bunk beds and it was nice enough so we took it, Adam is still currently up there in bed chilling and were gunna go exploring in a bit!
Adios :) x
