Hi Jan! The photos are fab, the fish dish especially looking good! Just wanted to let you know that the Ladies finally won the Team Captains Challange bowl this autumn. First time in 4 years - we are also back up to Division 1 in the league - keep your swing going mind!

You're looking good girl! Relaxed and healthy.... you are obviously suited to the antipodean lifestyle! Keep on posting, we're with you all the way! xx

Thanks for your message. Yes, I could have saved myself a mint of money by not coming over here but one does get a much better class of fly here. The ones I've been up close to are really classy. Designer brand surfing shorts, the latest shades and you should see them out in the bay on their surf boards! Only problem is they still think I am dinner or some such meal. I am sure they are trying to be friendly but... Anyway I had a word with one or two of the millions that seem to find me desirable and told them about this lovely office in the UK where they would be welcome with open arms but as none of them had a passport they decided not to visit.
Anyway what's with the fly fryer, didn't know there was any money in the budget for such luxuries. Thought a plastic fly swatter from Woolies would be the extent of expenditure allowed!!
Anyway, soldier on. Re. the paperwork there is always the WPB and I don't expect anyone would notice.
Love to Sue x 2, Roger, Owen, Trevor et al.
Must go, have to decide whether to head for the beach, hit the shops in Melbourne, catch a train somewhere or just chill. Ain't life tuf?

Hi Jan
Woke up this morning to ice on the car windscreen (2.5 degrees) Pitch black at 0630 when I left for my enjoyable trip to the office. But I guess as the day goes on it will warm up and as the cluster flies spread themselves over the windows (and everywhere else) I will be reminded of you in Australia!! Add to that the smell of burning flies as they hit the electric fly killer then I really get into the barbie thing!!! You obviously have made a mistake travelling to the opposite side of the world when you could have had the same fun here?? Glad to hear that you are recovering from your chest complaint - keep rubbing the Vic on....I must go now as I have yet more piles of paper that need shifting to the other side of the desk - Still as they say "The wheels on the bus go round and round" but who knows in what direction but the driver!! Take care and continue to respect the spiders - you never now what is sharing the toilet seat with you....

Hi everyone,
Sorry that entries have been thin on the ground. I have had a bronchial infection for the last ten days - couldn't happen at work when you get paid for being sick, could it. Consequently I have not been out and about as much as I might. Anyway I hope it's in retreat. I am off to Melbourne on Friday. Very much looking to that. Love Perth and this side of Oz. Looking forward to coming back in a couple of weeks time or so and travelling up the west coast.
Take care out there.

I'm dissapointed in the lack of photos and no videos you are enjoying youself too much to be bothered but we need cheering up back here. The only thing we have in common with Australia in this office is the flies that are everywhere. Hope you are well but please think of us back here and take some more photos etc.

Hi Jan, will keep an eye on your journey, sounds absolutley fabulous. I'm green with envy. Looking forward to the part-time (starts 12th November) and you never know, I may even retire myself in few years, but would really like to get my long service medal first. I've also contacted Dee and given her the details, so no doubt she will be in touch.
Take care and enjoy.

Sounds good to me as one who wishes to retire from constant commuting only to travel.
where next young lady and when, so that I could wing my way.

Hi Jan - good to see you looking so well and happy. I must say I didn't think it would be long before you had a cockatoo in you hand! As for a roo...How are the flies downunder? ----We are becoming infested with the annual cluster flie problem in this office and it seems to have taken management by surprise once again - only had five years so far for them to rectify the situation....Sue getting better by the day (still off work but hoping to go back next week) extension finished (apart from a little snagging) and decorating in progress so roll on Christmas. I am currently looking out of the window (peering past the flies) as the rain is gently falling over Ninesprings (and everywhere else for that matter). It is 1050hrs and really dull outside. Hope this doesn't make you feel homesick!!!! Take care, enjoy the cockatoo and above all have fun. Dave
