Hello from Jaipur...
Caught the early morning train to Jaipur, and checked into the loveliest hotel! It had such a good pool and literally that was the first thing we done! Straight into the pool to cool down... lush! We seen the City Palace in the afternoon which was beautiful! There were monkeys everywhere in it! The main room was stunning... gold everywhere! They had some workshops there where we seen how they make the paintings with only one hair on the brush, absolutely crazy! It took them like 6 hours to paint a small picture but the detail was immense! They also create blue pottery, which was lovely! The tour guide showed us all the different clothes of the Maharajah and this one guy must have been about 60 stone! His waistband was like 2 metres across (maybe even more!) and he had tiny titchy legs and he probably would have had hundreds of concubines... how I do not know! GROSS!! Walking out of the palace and some guy just grabbed my boob! I was ready for grabbers this time though and hit him with my water bottle and gave him a stinking look! What is it with India and boobs?! The day after we went to Amber Fort which again was absolutely amazing! It had a super nice view of the city! It had towers where you could overlook everything! Inside the Fort were all different open all rooms, one was covered in mirrored mosaic! It was stunning! Had a little shop in the afternoon and I bought a lovely jubbly sari! I'm getting good at haggling now! We tried out the cycle rickshaws to get back to the hotel and I just felt awful! The guy cycling me and Gabs was about 60 and he looked as if he was going to pass out! I felt like getting off, telling him to sit down and me peddle for a bit! Ah love him! We seen a Bollywood film in the night! We couldn't understand a word of it but it was well funny! We kind of worked out that the guy had fallen in love with the girl and he had to prove to her dad that he loved her! It wasn't like our cinemas back home where everyone is quiet, everyone was shouting at the dad because he was horrible and cheering at the end when the guy got the girl! So good! Had a few near death experiences on the way back to the hotel on our tuk tuk! Jaipur is definitely worse for driving! After this I think I'll be able to sit in the car with my father without holding on for dear life! I'll never say a word about his driving again... sorry Dad! Had a little pool party when we got back to the hotel! We were well spoilt with a pool!! Overall, Jaipur was lovely, much less hectic than Delhi!
