Was tough to get going this morning. Day started out quite grey and the huge bed was too comfy. Two boiled eggs, wholemeal toast and a massive fruit salad for brekkie didn't help either.
It was a day of pleasure, pain and a bit of fear. The pleasure was the beautiful countryside and the sun shining again. The pain was the hills which were tough again today. My knee is telling me its had enough of hills. The fear was in the shape of the descent into Pateley Bridge which was terrifying. It was ridiculously steep with tight blind corners. Scariest thing I've done on a bike. But we survived it and then attempted to beat the Olympic torch relay into tonight's destination - Ripon. Made it just in time. Was really lovely seeing people out being so patriotic.
Just a short day today at around 32 miles but it was enough for me considering elevation gain was 3297 feet.
Anyway. Sun still shining and it's time for a glass or two of wine in town and food!!!!
