Another beautiul day and we've already walked miles including a visit to Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Love Park and walked across town from one river to the other. Labour Day means it's a real holiday atmosphere but much more relaxed than NYC. Just eaten the hottest turkey sandwich, chilli sauce is their pickle of choice and washed it down with root beer! Tastes a bit like cough medicine but you have to try these things.
Met a Swiss couple we were on the QM2 with, this morning, our second chance meeting as we met another couple, Mexican, in NYC. On Saturday we went to Ground Zero, Battery Park, Wall Street, South Seaport and then up to Chelsea and the Flatiron. Found the subway really good and people were just so helpful
Prices here are better and they're not as money grabbing as in NYC though the tipping is a bone of contention even with Americans. They expect 20% on most bills. Off to Chinatown next.
Thanks for messages - enjoy your holidays those of you who are about to get an autumn break, sorry for those of you who are back at work!
