The colours are unbelievable - becomes a problem of how many photos of trees you can justify taking. Had a brilliant day in Algonquin Park yesterday and saw moose, red squirrels and deer. Trails are easy to follow and the tranquility down by the many lakes is lovely. Spent Sunday locally and took a pedalo out on the lake and then drove to Dwight Beach and back for a stroll round Pensylvania Lake. People stop and talk and admire the colours with you. Have seen deer on most days, including three just behind the cabin as we came in last night. Place abounds with chipmunks and woodpeckers. So quiet we are sleeping ten hours a night.
Started to rain last night and is set in or the day so hence spending some time catching up on internet. This part of Canada is much more like we expected. Toronto was so busy and the people by and large not very friendly and not many Canadians. Thinking back it was like that in Dublin where I never spoke to anyone Irish. Very different here as everyone wants to help and is really friendly. Loving cooking or ourselves and having nights in.
Drive to Ottawa tomorrow, again through the Park, so it will be a lovely journey. On Thursday we move to Montreal. Well pleased with travel agent as the mix of hotels and self catering is suiting us fine.
Shall go into Huntsville next then maybe a walk later.
Best wishes, Jane and Peter xx
