Tea at the Burj al Arab this afternoon. Looking upwards from where we had tea sitting on settees you see this view. The sail is on the right. It was a 7 course tea - of which we gave up after 6 before the stollen and other spiced slices. Sandwiches, hot salmon in pastry slice, raspberry sorbet, lemon scones, tiny pastry, petit fours, spiced slices. Big choice of unusual teas or coffee. Then we were able to take the panoramic glass elevator up to the 27th floor and you get the best view across neighbouring Palm island from there. The World is only sandbanks at the moment.
Later we took our hotel's shuttle bus into the Emirates mall so that we could see their ski slope. It's much longer than ours at Xscape. Frighteningly large area of shops with 40 more being added - or maybe stalled currently we weren't sure.
We sunbathed this morning and it was hotter than yesterday so Wedg swam again and I just sunbathed legs in order to keep coolish. They're very attentive to guests on the beach, laying out he towels on the sunbeds, bringing wet face towels regularly, supplying complimentary ice cream and bringing drinks or food if you choose those.
We looked at the turtles again in the huge enclosure - there are 10 babies, 2 mothers and a fatherwe're guessing by the sizes. The sign said it's a joint rehabilitation venture with Plymouth, UK.
Tomorrow it's lucky breakfast starts at 6.30 because we're being picked up at 7am for our 10am-ish flight. We've heard about the snow across the SE so will dress in layers we can add as we approach England!
Thanks for being interested in our trip. Presents for quite a few of you on their way!
