Hello everybody!
So where was I?!
I think I stopped at taking the bus to Chumpon from Pattaya. The bus was pretty comfortable and we drove about 9 hours to arrive at our destination. We arrived in Chumpon at night and took a scootertaxi to our hostel. That was a pretty heavy ride, 'cause the little scooter had to carry the driver, me and Sophie and our very heavy backpacks!
We stayed at Salsa hostel, a simple but very clean hostel! We stayed 1 full day in Chumpon and we realised very soon it was not a touristy place. We walked around in some very local neighbourhoods and were an atrraction for all the thai people there! It looked like they had never seen a white person before :) very funny tho!
From chumpon we took the catamaran to Ko Tao. It took almost 2 hours, but what a bumpy ride! I have to admit it was pretty scary sometimes sitting on the deck of that boat! Wild ocean here in Thailand! Many people on the boat got seesick, including sophie, poor thing! We were al very glad to be on land again!
And what kind of land... The first impression of Ko Tao was a good one! Nice beaches and blue see! That's what we came for :) We planned to stay 3 days: one in Chalok bay and 2 days in Sairee beach. Both very beautiful locations with lots of bars, restaurants and young people! What was very diferent from Pattaya and Chumpon was that the island was full of foreigners! Hard to find some locals! But it has it's charm as well!
So out 3 days here passed really quick and we met some really nice people. This is a place I would definitly come back! Best recommendation for Sairee Beach: The Cottage Restaurant! Very good bbq food!
Hostels we stayed in: Ko Tao Hostel in Chalok Bay and the Backpackers Hostel in Sairee Beach, both vert basic hostels but with good location!
So tomorrow we are taking the boat and bus to Krabi with stops in Koh Phangan, Ko Samui and Surat Thani. Busy day tomorrow so time to sleep!
Talk to y'all in a few days!
Xoxo Jana
