It has been so long snce i have writtena blog i have no idea where i am up to in my travels. Dont have much time on the computer and it isnt a very good one as the words dont appear on the creen till a few secondsafter i type them so if there are lots of grammatical errors i apologise.
So camp finished around 10 days ago. The kids left 3 days before that, it was weird being at camp without the kisthere it was like a ghost town. Evben though the over night kids left i still had to work at the pool right up until the last day. Cus the day camp group still came in. That really sucked cus everyone else had nothing to do and i had to work. However everyone else complained of being really bored, at leaest i had something to do and i didnt work very harc so itr was all good. The last nitghwe had a big camp fire with about 30 of the interbnational staff members it was cool and i got to hang out with sara a fair bit. We spent one of the last nights playing gator tag in the dark. Pretty much there was someone oin duty driving around in the gators and the game was you had to bang the gator and run away without being caught. It scarded the s*** out of the peoiple ion the gators but provided a lot of fun for us. Igot out of camp early saturday morning. Went to phili airport to fly to chicago to meet up with ashley. (The girl I met back in sydney last year)
The airport was fun, i had to pay to check my bag ($15) and it was overweight by like 16 pounds. So i stuffed my back pack full of tshirst to carry on. But it was still overwight i had s***rs flung over my shoulder io was carrying shoes and it was still 4 pound over. The lady let me take it on like that. But what happens is you get your tags on the bag and then you take it somewhere else to get security checked before it goes on theplane. So once it was weighted i just put all my stuff back in it. Joke was on them. On the flight i sat next to this cool african american guy he waws trasvleing with his band. They wrote the song "if you dont know me by now you will never ever ever know me oooo" It was pretty cool he was a really interesting person. Coolest person i have met in my life.
Chicago was awesome and i was so glad to get away from everything about camp really wquickckly. Ashleys dad and brother picked me up form the airport and took mt to lunch because ashley had a baby showr happening at her place for her cousin. 40 american women... i dont hink s. Ash's house is just beautifuol and her family were ridculously nice. Her little sister was good fun and constantly put on her best australian accent to make me feel at home. It was terrible though but made for a good laugh. We went out to her famr were she has a big pond and we awent swimming. We mainly kjust hung out the whole time played catch etc. it was a great chill out. We also drank a lot./ We also went to a cubs game had killer seats and it was an exciting game. It goes much faster when you watch it live. Cubs lost 2-1. I was therr for 5 days and ash and i went to NY city to meet the other boys. We flew to NY.
NyY was pretty much a disaster. We were all very excited to get out of there. We lasted ther for 2 nights. It is a long story of what wnet wrong but the bother boys stayed in downtown harlem.Possibly the scariest place i have ever been to in my life. Its spot a caucasian person. Ash and I stayed in a very nice hotel in the middle of town but we shared it with 8 other people. We spent two nights on the floor. But it was ok we just got drunk both nights. The first night we were there was the 21st and jaymes bday we wen tto a comedy club and then to a pub for drinks it was a great night and the highlight of the trip. The next day ash and i did all the sights. Empire state building (just a big building) Statue of liberty (very small) Ground zero (the highliught of the sights very moving and very somber place i really enjoyed it , it was sad though.) Central park was really beautiful too. They were fliming Gossip girl there so got a few phtos of the main charcters it was cool to watch how it all starts out and watching the back up poeple and everything. We left NY on the 23rd and headed to Hartford Connecticut.
We got there by car which the boys hired in Phili it is a big white suv and is awesome. It has yet to be named. The drive to hartford was interesting. Jaymes wanted to learn how to drive on the american roads. Possible not a good idead to let him learn whislt driving through NY city. There were a few close calls one in particular would have probably been trip ending if the car was a few incehs to the right. But all good now we just dont lety jayme drive. Mattys one and only experiecne driving was less scary but very amusing he isnt keen to do anymore driving.
We went to hartford to see John Mayer. and thus far it is one of the higlights of the entire trip,. Not just cus it was john mayer but cus the venue was real cool we were excited to leave NY and it was just really relaxing. However beers were 8 bucks that didnt sit well. But there were 9 of us at the concert the 4 boys (Greg is yet to catch up with us) Ahs and some other people from camp. We drove ash back to NY the next day to get her plane home. And left Stoner and his wife Jo in HArtford as they are having their own little trip. Will be intersteing to hear how that went. Then Jaymes me and Matty drove back to where we are nowNew haven just for a nioght in transit before we hit Boston tomorrow night to catch up with some pommys from camp. WE went to YAle university today and went on a tour it was really interesteing(mattysgrandfather went there) annd head toboston probably after lunch. All is well atm. Diondt get to catch much of the olympics wich was disapointing. It is hard to get internet time we are currently at a local luibrary. Wish i broiught my laptop.
Hopefully ht next few days life willslow down a bit... but it probably wont. Sorry if i havent replied to your emails but there is just not enough time or access. That doesnt mean im not missing you all and thinking of you heaps. Keep the sports scores coming it is one less thing i have tio google when i come online.
