Entry from James
Ok so I wrote about my first two days here in Macau and was writing it as a day by day journal when I realised that this was pointless. I'm here to do some travelling but Macau is, for the time being, home. Thailand gave me the travel bug but it has been fairly obvious to me for a long time that it was time to leave England and spread my wings. I have done some stupid stuff in my life but at the same time I have seen and achieved a lot as well but the decision to come here, to see the world which I intend to do, has so far been the best decision made. I don't need to go on a voyage of self discovery or find myself but I would be lying to myself if I didn't say that my head needs a clearout. I won't go into detail now but it will be interesting to see what happens through the natural course of time.
So I arrived here on Tuesday the 6th of June after a great flight. The month before was spent working from home, saying goodbye to friends and getting myself ready where some realisations came out that I was not aware of. The appartment is really great and has totally felt like home the moment I set my foot through the door. The welcome sign on the door and in the room was a great surprise and was a very nice touch. We took an interesting walk to the market where it took some time to get used to having to go back to basic english and body language as my main form of communication. Macau is a very welcoming place and for the most part is very interesting but there are touches of western civilisation that have rendered certain parts rather unattractive. There are however some beautiful temples and buildings which depict the history of the place that are just a dream to photograph.
So the plans are to go back to Thailand and go into Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam plus try and go to Australia as we both know lots of people there that we can stay with. Everyone is welcome to come and stay with us anytime that you want and noone will be turned away from our door.
Will be writing again soon.
Peace and Love
