Packing this morning was a little rough after only sleeping for about 3 hours. Our group planned to go to Vina Del Mar to go to the beach. Some of them had arranged to Couch Surf that night with a couple guys they met last time they were in town. I needed to buy a bus ticket so I hopped in the car with one of the French couples, Quentin and June, who had been traveling and living out of a camper van for the last few months. They drove me to bus station and I got a ticket and we met the rest of the people at the beach in Vina. We met up with the two Couch Surfing guys, Max and Renado and we went off to try to find a cheap restaurant for lunch. However, Max hasn´t been to Vina much (they all live in Santiago but are renting an apartment for the weekend). We ended up at a grocery store and got some food for a picnic lunch. And this is where I learned that Chileans don´t really eat much Peanut Butter (aaaahhhhhh!!!!!! Sad Me!) But, we found me some, thankfully, and some jelly. This was pretty much my staple food in Africa when I was traveling because it is filling and easy to eat.
After lunch and ice cream, we went back and lounged on the beach. It was a good time but a little cold. Then we packed up and this is when Max and everyone convinced me to stay for one my night. I had no idea it was so easy to change a bus ticket, and I was a little sad to leave this fun group. So, I decided to stay (I'm on vacation, after all!). Max´s friend, Felipe, drove me and him to the bus station to change my ticket and then we all met back up at their apartment. Even the drive was fun and the views of the city at night on the high roads were so nice. Felipe is a professional party planner and It turns out it was his birthday today! Thus, a birthday celebration ensued. They had these ridiculous Frankenstein buckets that they were drinking out of (I guess it is a tradition for Felipe since his birthday is so close to Halloween? lol) And the French girls made REAL FRENCH CREPES tonight! Ooooohh my gosh they were soooo good. We hung out at the apartment for a long time and then went out to a club that was close for some dancing. Have I mentioned how much I love dancing? :) At the end of the night we had 16 people sleep in this tiny apartment. One person I think even slept under a table. A good night indeed!
