Today was spent mostly by or in the swimming pool. There are several pools at the apartment complex, one which was pretty cold but deep, one that is shallow and warmer, one pool had a water slide, and there also was a really hot hottub. We originally wanted to do a BBQ down by the pool but the place was reserved. Felipe's friend Hucke (which is his nickname, his real name is Alexander) came over again and we all swam a ton. Felipe had an underwater camera that provided much entertainment (cannon ball shots!). The hot tub, like I said, was ridiculously hot and you could only stay in for a short amount of time. Unless you were Alex and had the reflexes towards hot water like a cat and would jump in only to spring back out like lightening. Hahaha. The time at the pool was super fun, even though I rammed my elbow hard on the slide one time (ouch!). After we were tired of swimming we went into the clubhouse and played a few round of pool where Felipe somehow managed to pop a pool ball off the table and hit me directly in the shin! Not a good day for my poor body. Haha. The rest of the games were played with all of us avoiding the area directly in front of a shot, in case of more flying balls.
Afterwards we were all starving so we went back up the apartment where Felipe made some awesome chicken and some Mac & cheese. A friend of Cote's came over to hang out as well. Earlier in the day we had made some sangria wine with cherimoya (a type of fruit that is really common here and used in everything from ice cream to desserts to drinks!) and we also tried some nice Peruivan pisco. At one point Cote's friend accidentally stepped backwards over someone's foot and took a tumble, breaking a glass. Thus required some deep cleaning of the rug and surrounding area to get all the glass, but no one was hurt (except her pride. Lol). Then the three of them went out to the casino to go dancing but Felipe and I stayed in because it was already quite late and the day spent by the pool made us tired!
The views from the apartment were spectacular and you could see the whole shoreline lit up from all the city lights. Such a beautiful city....
