Following the discovery that there's no gin in the house, and on my 1st full day here, me and rodrigo go off on a mission to find gin....
Turns out brazilians do not drink gin like at all! In the supermarkets there are so many diff brands of spirit to pick from and they have all the premium brands - apart from any recognisable gin
The one they had was called something like CV and was about £5 for a 70cl bottle
Bargain I thought
Gin is gin I thought
We go back home and it turns out that the housekeepers granddaughter Stephanie is visiting. She says hello and is immediately fascinated by the fact that I speak English - she loves my nails and also loves candy crush saga
I think she said she is 8 yrs old but I'm not 100% on my memory as I was drinking the gin
Rodrigo being a heavy drinker anyway was pouring drinks that were half gin half tonic and we started drinking way too early for a newbie like me
When we were on our gin hunt we stopped off at the bar so I had already had 2 pints of beer by 1pm (not a massive deal I know) chased by the start of the gin on slight from 1pm until I crashed out...when I crashed out that is
I'm talking with Stephane and as she lives my nails I say I will paint hers - she was so adorable honestly and wanted to teach me to speak portugese so that we can be friends
The night goes on and I'm continuing to drink despite being ******ered
I meet Rodrigo's friends who come round to say hi but decide to call it a night at about 11pm. - ending the 11 he binge
As SOON as my head hit that pillow that was it...f***ed
My second night here and yup i throw up because I'd drank too much of a unknown brand - could have been laced with bleach for all I knew!!!
But hey whatcha gunna do!
I haven't told anyone here and nobody knows so I think I'll keep it that way....otherwise it means admitting that I'm just the English girl who can't drink- so far from the truth just give me normal gin!!!!!!
