Well been busy busy busy as usual! Flew here on Monday morning, moved hostel twice and now beginning to sort out things in New Zealand!
Hated leaving the hot weather behind, didn't mind being in jumpers for the first day but hate it already! Should've been born in a hot country! New Zealand is a very clean/big city! But very similar to New York and Toronto. All cities look the same once you are in them.
Already visited the local museum- Leah was our tour guide as it was the third time that she's been. But i enjoyed it, and as my normal self, was part of the chinese camera crew as i took loads of photos! They all laugh me for taking pictures of pointless things! But you gotta remember these things.
Best part of New Zealand was knowing i was going to see my best friend, was so excited when we got here but its like we've never been away from each other. Going to be another 10 months before i see her again, as she heads home next week. So, trying to make the most of it whilst she's here!
The first night we got here we were taking to a fantastic burger place- biggest chicken burger i ever had in my life. Lovely Jubbly! We stayed in a hostel with the loudest snoring chinese man ever!!! Middle of the night, and hadn't slept a wink, we moved rooms. Poor man must've woke up not having a clue that we had all gone. It was like he was possessed- so funny!
The next day we went campervan hunting and shopping for our trip, managed to research properly- got a brilliant deal... works out £10 a day. Gonna be so funny spending 5 weeks in a campervan. Looking forward to doing it at our own pace and i've picked alot of brains, so we should be seeing the best sites!
Leah has also taken us to the cinema, saw the strangest/funniest film (2 days in paris), was like we were back at rochester cinema. Mexican we had after it was lovely! Leah's keeping up with the cheap and cheerful as we're travelling!
Had a night out last night in Auckland, we all got really drunk, started drinking in the room and went to a few bars after to have a dance, nice to let our hair down. Shows we havent drunk for 9 weeks though as we were in bed by 1:30a.m. that included having a burger king, that'll teach us for drinking a bottle of wine each in an hour. Lightweights!!! Woke up this morning with a hangover and done nothing apart from bum around.
Getting used to being a backpacker now, cooking our own food. Never thought i'd hear the day, even though it is marmite on toast. Looking forward to the next 6 weeks.
Will keep you all posted.
Keep in touch, Miss you all x
