I woke up feeling a lot better as I slept through the night with no problem! We had tea, orange juice and a croissant each brought to our room door.
We bought cereal and milk for our breakfast so we had a nice breakfast this morning.
After a nice refreshing shower, we headed to Colosseum and unfortunately my map reading skills was rubbish so we got a bit lost. We got a metro to Colosseum.
We jumped the queue just because we are deaf! We were waiting in a queue when we decided to ask the guard, which led us being brought front of the tickets desks and were given tickets that covers roman forum too! A bonus and we got in for free!
The colosseum was amazing and to my disbelief Jacob said it is exactly as what he had imagined just because of the game Assassin Creed!
The brick works, the layers and the details were pretty impressive. It is amazing to think how they managed to build it without cranes or even any forms of construction machines!
We strolled around and enjoyed taking in the scenery of the colosseum. It was really sunny too but sort of is good as we were able to see it clearly! We were surprised to find out we were there for couple hours.
We had a nice lunch by the Colosseum, I had a tuna and tomato sandwich whereas Jacob had ham and cheese toastie. I laughed when Jacob bought peach juice and was so disappointed when they served it to him as it was SO small! So he decided to steal some of my peach iced tea!
We then went to roman forum and platine hill, I must admit I did whinge a bit as it was so hot and being wrapped in shawl and a hat didn't help. I was sweating and felt horrible! So hats off to Jacob for putting up with me. But visiting them was worth it as we probably won't come here again so I was pleased we went even though we didn't really enjoy it very much so.
We went to the Italian Parliament Building, Palazzo di Montecitorio, and it was so beautiful. I was amazed with the building and the statues. We went inside and went to the top. The view was lovely and we were glad we came! As soon we went down, we saw that the gate was closed so no more visitors were allowed to go in so we got in at the right time.
After seeing the Parliament Building we headed back to our room to relax for a bit. We then went to Colosseum to see it in the night time but we stopped by a restaurant to eat first.
We found a cool, well Jacob found it, restaurant full of musical icons like Elvis and there were some statues above us. The ceiling was full of old signs and a guitar. It was pretty cool. Jacob ordered pasta and I swear it was undercooked but Jacob said he likes it as it is. I had salmon and creamy tomato risotto which I loved!!
We went to Colosseum as it was dark and I thought it was very pretty in night time with the lights. I was useless with Jacob's camera so it made Jacob annoyed! We tried to make slow motion videos of us jumping.
We then went back to our room to circle things on the map for us to do tomorrow. We ended the night by eating mullers yogurt before bed and bit of euro sports on the tv!
