After a relaxing day walking around Stanley park yesterday today began with a very early start as we had to catch the 7am coach down to Seattle. This was no ordinary coach...the driver was somewhat unordinary and gave us a start talk that he obviously changes everyday to try and put some life into his mundane job. Aparently it was hug a plumber day and eat a zukini day... "everyday is a holiday on this coach".
Crossing the border for sure was no holiday, it took us an hour, a finger print scan and a scoff of our strawberrys because you cant take fruit int the states.
Our stop was downtown Seattle and in the sun the space needle and the surrounding complex looked lovely. It was a perfect day to see the views of the harbour.
The market was very quirky and was alive with so many sights and smells including the main attraction of the fish stall throwing fish and chanting whenever a customer orders a foot long fish. We opted for a dozen doughnuts instead.
The centre of Seattle was a little dissapointing with the constant bombardment of the homless and charities asking for money. But it was well worth a visit and it is a lot like the film 'sleepless in seattle', we managed to spot the fish stall where tom hanks and his son buy dinner and the restaurant he eats at with his friend.
Getting back in to Canada was beautiful, driving through washington state with the dead flat farmland in the foreground and the snowy topped mountains in the backdrop. After a veeerry long day tomorrow we will be just as busy getting preperations for next adventure to Jasper.

Anne Did you scoff those great big Strawberry's, that I saw in Laura's hand? lol & did you manage to eat a Zukini? :) Your blog made me smile , glad you enjoyed your day x
Auntie Rachel So you came south to the USA. Seattle is home to STARBUCKS! The bus driver sounded a bit bizarre. Did you find a plumber to hug? We eat zucchini sometimes. It is nice fried with onions. Thought I would give you a cookery lesson ha ha. You are not allowed to bring fruit or plants into the USA. Hope scoffing all those strawberries did not upset your stomachs. Did you see Tom Hanks or Meg Ryan? I guess you were not there long enough to get sleepless. Have a nice day! xx
Auntie Rachel I presume you are in Jasper, Alberta, now, preparing to start your job. (OH THAT NASTY WORD.) All work and no play is not fun! Hope you had a lovely drive from Vancouver to Jasper, and there was plenty of beautiful scenery. How is the weather? I hope it is getting better. Welcome to Alberta. Have a most enjoyable time there. Take care. xx
