We haven't slept a wink but we're buzzing with excitement!!!
We grab a cab to our rental pickup point to collect our "hippie van" - it's class - her name is Tina and she has a TV, DVD player, kitchen and decent double bed. They include a lot in the package like a full tank of fuel, gas for the stove and towels and bedding. Matt's loving the van, as we are shattered travelling we decide a camp site will work best for tonight so we head for Coconut Resort down the road which is part of the big 4 group that our camper gets 10% discount for.
We head out to get some groceries stocking up on pasta, bread and basics which escalates to a hefty shop at $200 - we have pretty much packed out the dwarf fridge so at least we'll eat well for a couple of days.
It's $34 a night at Coconut Resort and has an on-site pool, cooking facilities, bbqs and showers. First time in ages we've cooked a meal, Jacq does pepperoni pasta at the communal kitchen on site and we meet a lovely French couple called Natalie and Phillippe. They've been travelling the coast for almost 3 months, we all get on really well and have a few drinks with them swapping details, they invite us to their home in Lyon. As they are at the end of their trip they kindly offload some of their stock and we gratefully alleviate them of their repellent, wine glasses and maps - making a note that we must do the same when we leave.
Matts' dad speaks French really well so has a conversation with Philippe on the phone thanking him for being so kind to us.
Exhausted and stuffed we head for our first night of many sleeping in our "hippie van".
