So, today was fishing day.. We awoke to the sound of rainfall.. A sound that would become a bit too familiar for today.. We decided breakfast at our guesthouse would be nice but we were wrong and within 30 minutes we were eating somewhere else which was ideal :) a nice lot of fried rice and pork later we were ready to set off of on our moped scoopy on a wet and hopefully fish filled adventure.. So milly wanted to drive for a bit so she drove the simple bits whilst I got the muddy tracks but safely enough we arrived and saw fish jumping out of the lake and our hopes were raised and we were glad we trekked through the rain to come.. One beer and some 3 hours later we had caught no fish... We had lost all of our bait used up lots of lure.. All hope was lost and we called it a day.. Still even with no fish it wasn't a bad (or expensive) way to spend a lazy rainy afternoon... Back in town it was time to take our beloved moped back to the rental shop.. We had (according to the dash) been over 400 km doing all of our exploring and we could not have done it without scoopy. In the morning we were going to be riding out into the jungle on some of the worlds giants.. Elephants! Milly is very excited for this and so am I obviously.. The plan is 2 hours of elephant rides followed by lunch and some bamboo rafting down the river, then we will wash the elephants off in the river and get wet (as the sign said bring dry clothes) then visit the hot springs and back in time for dinner...
Tonight we went for a few drinks on the main strip, a few mojitos at 1 pound a pop wasn't bad along with some of the best food we have had so far (apart from our own) and now back at the room we are tired and ready for bed after our weary and rather unsuccessful day fishing... So no one won the bet after all!
