Bags all packed and rental car delivered back full of fuel (or gas as the Americans call it). Michael didn't tell hire car company how he had pressed the first aid symbol on the mirror only for it to connect us to the medical emergency hotline.
Checking in Alaskan Airlines to Anchorage. You pay for bags but they must be under 50lb to qualify for $20 each bag. One bag weighs 58lb so we have to redistribute all our luggage across our bags. The most patient and helpful check in staff member we have ever met. She told us not too hurry and chatted to us about Australia whilst we unpacked and packed at her counter. Her friend lives in Mackay.
Security staff also friendly. Wanted to know whether we drank Fosters, when we told him no he said he understood as it tasted like "kangaroo piss". We were left wondering when he might have tasted either!
Check in to airport wifi only to find my iPad has done a hard reset whilst squashed in my bag. Crisis time as I do not have my computer with me to restore from iTunes. Project for tonight to see what I can do to restore it.
Flight AS 99 left on time and it is a 3 hour 15 mins flight to Alaska.
Kirsten finally realises why the airport region is called SeaTac - short for Seattle- Tacoma.
Kirsten sleeps on the plane whilst Michael and Jacki read the Tourist Book on Alaska. Looking forward to spending afternoon and evening in Anchorage before we leave tomorrow for Denali National Park.
