Caught up with good friend Alex at Rain City Grill English Bay. Great food with such fresh local produce. The evening went so quickly and it reinforced how much I have missed her. Alex always makes a difference to everyone around her. Enjoyed hearing about her new role and the opportunity it brings for her to make a difference on road safety. Hard to believe her 2 boys are now 7 & 5. It only seemed like yesterday Kirsten and I visited her in Sydney after the birth of William.
Hopefully Alex will come and visit us in NZ.
The English Bay area was teeming with people out and about enjoying the Vancouver summer evening. Opposite the restaurant were the bronze Laughing Statues.
They were installed before the Olympics, on loan for two years from a sculptor in China to celebrate public art. This year money was raised to buy them and keep them in place. A cool $1.5 million was donated by one benefactor.
