Really warm day here in Vancouver. It is 25 degrees C and we had planned for the forecast of 17 C. It was an easy check in to the Pan Pacific which is right at the end of the cruise terminal. Very helpful and friendly. However our room was not ready until 2pm so we explored Gastown ( the original part of the city) and the trendy Yaletown. Kirsten remembered visiting Gastown and the Arena where she went to watch a game of Ice Hockey last time she was here. We remembered the steam clock.
Throughout the city artists have decorated porcelain replicas of the Terracotta Warriors and will auction them for a children's charity in October. There are 33 around the city. In fact there is an additional one, a female empress that is not part of the original Warriors.
When we get to our room we are delighted that we have a harbourfront room and up 22 floors. Amazing views of Stanley Park, the mountains and the harbor. Michael spends the afternoon watching the pleasure craft navigate the harbour. Kirsten has a little nap to recharge her batteries.
