Easy day today.
Started to read my book from a medical student and tried to build up a bit if colour without turning red.
Started talking to two boys bit mire today, and they seemed keen to tag along maybe later to have a peek at rival backpackers mayoka village.
I found very long piece of bambo and used it to delicately smash a mango off the tree. However I 'smashed' it far to hard and it split in a rock, it made good eating nonetheless.
We ate lunch in town and headed round to the other side of the bay to scout out this other backpackers place. It was right at the top of a rather lengthy hillside right on a cliff edge almost. Mayoka village was based on the steep slope, lots of very steep stairs, but clearer waters and even a floating platform to entertain yourself diving off ect.. Very clean and tidy. Defending moving ship.
In the evening we saw/experienced our first major lightning storm. Started raining and then lightning came like strobe lights, the place was constantly lit up. Amazing! All the fishermen who go out on their very unstable canoes with small lanterns at night to attract the fish, all came paddling back at a good speed. As the first few were hitting shore the lightning changed from sheet (across/in the clouds) to fork lightning (hitting the ground) which started to strike closer and closer to where we were. Suddenly there was a huge flash and crack at the same time where it had struck a tree within 150m from us on higher ground. Made the ground shake and Iv never heard a noise like it. Scary stuff... After an hour or so it had all passed over.
