After recovering from our 'W' trek we continued north to El Calafate where we trekked on the Perito Moreno glacier. Geared with crampons and harnesses we set off on a 6hour exploration. It was 'super' cool...like nothing we had seen or done before...kind of like being on acompletely different planet!! The sounds of the ice crashing into the water was, at times, deafening and felt like we could be falling through a crevasse into the middle of the earth at sny moment!!
After that wee adventure we stupidly thought that a 30hour bus journey to our next destination, El Bolson, would be a good idea!! What a killer...never again!! However, on arriving in El bolson we realised that we had just discovered paradise!! THis place is absolutely stunning. Very small and extremely relaxing! We're staying in a cute little log style hostel, surrounded by the Andes, right next to a river..with loads of trees...and dogs!! Clearly i'm a very happy camper!! We've met some fantastic people since we arrived here..we originally booked in for 2 days and ended up staying a week (forfeiting already booked bus tickets!!) Today we are sadly packing up and moving on..the guys at the hostel put on a farewell BBQ for those of us leaving today...one big happy family!!
Could ramble on for ages but this computer is extremely slow and we have a some strawberry waffles to consume!!
