Only in Japan could you combine robots with toilets! That's a hell of a brainstorm in our book and we could write a whole blog on the features of their toilets - music choice, seat temperature, bum wash pressure; put a fridge and tv in there and Nathaniel would never leave. Despite the commendable sanitary conditions, the public toilet is still Andrea's achilles heel and there was no change to the look of sheer horror on her face everytime she exits one. The Japanese regard for the little room is evident in one of their streets we saw, which we assume is named in its honour, that being Takes#ita Street. Moving on from the toilet, we spent a day exploring Tokyo through the shops and restaurants of Shinjuku, the shrines and food stalls of Meiji-Jingu, the hustle and bustle of the Ginza, and the tradition and regality of the Imperial Palace. We even got to cook our own teppanyaki squid and scallops. The next day was devoted entirely to Tokyo Disneyland and we are struggling to remember when or if we'd ever seen so many people in one place. Without a doubt the longest either of us have ever stood in a line for an amusement park ride at just over 2 hours for a 2 minute ride! Mickey speaking in Japanese was a bit of a spin out (we wonder what big Walt would have to say about that if we thawed him out), but was a great day and the real Disneyland/world will be even better when we finally get there one day. Japan was brilliant and India awaits us, Jai ho! Not sure what that means but it's the only Indian thing we know, that and clutching helplessly at your guts after a dodgy vindaloo.

Ben So was the ride good?
Deborah Yeah i remember the toilets in Japan...In the hotel it was lovely but outside of that....a nightmare on Elm Street....u will find similar or maybe worse in Malacca...now that was truly horrible....Well hoefully the vindaloo doesnt send you scurrying to the Indian loos because I dont think it would be any better there.. Love the blogs..or was the bogs..lol Hope the ride was worth the wait.
