Two Chicks & a Climber Reach New Heights
Didn't spend too long here as had to keep moving to be in San Jose, Costa Rica to catch our flight home. Visited Granada, another pretty colonial town. In many ways, Granada in western Nicaragua resembles its historic sister city, Antigua, Guatemala. Both boast exquisite examples of Spanish colonial architecture, and sit beside towering blue volcanoes. Buildings here are better preserved compared to other colonial towns I've seen. The charming town was walking distance that a day here was enough. Spent the afternoon by the pool to cool off as far too hot to walk around. Got nothing bad to say about Nicaragua, just wish we had more time here to visit Leon and the Ometepe Islands...
