Two Chicks & a Climber Reach New Heights
'Miss and Mr Personality Contest' took place as part of the English month. The contestants were in Form 4 and 5. All of them were totally dressed up. Bearing in mind, make up is completely prohibited in the school and everyone has to wear the modest school uniform. The girls wore dresses above the knee, their hair down, styled and funky make-up on, some of them were unrecognizable! Most of the girls took it really seriously and made a huge effort, but there was a legendary girl that was just having a laugh and wore the funniest thing, she was great. The boys were all jazzed up in their suits and such like as well, with their hair gelled etc.
The contestants had to write a short essay about themselves and answer questions on the spot. They were also marked on the suitability of their dress. Marks were low in this category since the girls weren't supposed to have skirts below the knee and no shoulder's showing but they all pretty much went against that! The girls were pretty vain on the catwalk but the boys were hilarious. Some of them got it to a T. This just crazy how much raunchier stuff they can get away, than the girls. They were doing the whole taking off the suit jacket and swinging it over their shoulders and striking amazing poses. Leslie cracked us all up! He's the camp, slightly overweight boy in one of Kirsty's classes. He's got such confidence, giving it all the Charlie's Angels poses. He got top marks.
Kirsty heard little 'meows' from next door and her jaw absolutely dropped when she looked down, and there was a cardboard box full of kittens. I've never been a fan of pets but I swear, Kirsty was seriously way over excited about these kittens going 'Oh my God! Oh my God!' The kids find it pretty funny that Kirsty loves them to death. Turns out that the mum had the kittens downstairs in the toilet, and the girls secretly brought them to the Asrama. There are 3 of them, a white one, which Kirsty called 'Struggle-muffin', because she thought she was going to struggle to survive unless she fed her muffins. Don't ask why *shakes head*. Then there's a really podgy one, it wouldn't let the other kittens into its mum teats, so it is called 'Podgy-sook'. Last but not least, the wee ginger one that meows like crazy if you pick her up, so originally it was called 'Whiney', but then thought that's a bit mean, so now she's called 'Squirrel'. They're just adorable, although a little scrawny.
Seeing that it was a public holiday, the Asrama kids finally had the chance to totally unwind all day. The deaf kids and I created entertainment for ourselves, you'll see what I mean by looking at the happy snaps. Needless to say, we all got a bit hyper that the kids starting jumping on my bed and in no time, a misfortune happened, my bed broke. Now I find myself sliding out of bed at night.
