Hello hello!
Koh Phangan was a crazy party island. The day after the full moon was deadly.. We did go and discover the untredded path too, and it was awesome. Sarah and I hired a scooter and drove around the island. We got lost pretty fast, saw elefants, a waterfall that was almost dry. We tried to get back on track and found ourselves on the coast again, heading towards the beautiful bottle beach we heard about.. and then the road ended. Two english guys came from the jungle with scooters and said that its no way near worth it trying to go through. We had lunch and tried to find ourselves on the map (again). And then realised we already were at the harbour where we wanted to catch a boat to the beach! Great!
The longtail boats are beautiful..but really noisy. It was a relaxing afternoon at the beach, with small waves!! Heaps of sunshine and great people. I didnt want to leave the place. But it was getting late and our boat to Koh Tao left early in the morning.
I found myself surrounded by too many swedish people at a dive resort, so I did what any sane person (from Finland) would: fixed myself up with an aussie bloke and had the best time listening to that crazy twang and his joy teasing me as much as he could. Aussies.. they're all the same, haha!
Definitely the craziest thing I found myself doing was going for a night dive, that is part of my advanced diver's course. I was sweating like a pig because I was so nervous, but once I got underwater, it was all so beautiful and calm. Today I have navigation and buoyancy diving.
Koh Tao is definitely a chilled out place and I like it. Though there still is some of that crazy tourist stuff going on.. but I guess you cant get rid of that. It's what the people live on.. and you can see it when you arrive here. Tens of thais come running at you to try and get you to their best resort. Try and stay calm in that hassle..and think straight. It's not too easy, considering its 35 degrees hot, you have a heavy bag and hundreds of people filing out from the boat behind you.. Ohh, and experience Id say.
Anyway, I hope you are all well, keep on commenting! I love to read the comments from you guys, even the shortest ones! ;) See you soonish!
