If you are familiar with the fantastic song "club tropicana" by the awesome group wham! You will be familiar with the sounds from mother nature that kept me awake last night! If you dont know it

you just need to listen to the first 10 seconds!
This mixed with heavy tropical rain showers on a corrugated roof led to a rather short nights sleep! The rain continued into the morning and when in the briefing room for our helicopter flight to the active volcano we were told the flight was cancelled :( i wasnt upset you cant control the weather. I just booked myself on another flight later in the afternoon and yay this time it went.
So i now want to be a helicopter pilot, it was great! Oh the scenery wasnt too bad either. As you will see from the pics I sat next to the pilot terrified to move in case i touched something by accident!
Although still technically active it is nothing like this article from the daily mail last year.

In fact the flow just stopped short of the main commuter highway by about 200m and only one house was lost. The surface was silver today like burnt charcoal very warm with a small no. Of fires. These pics are not great but you get the idea.
[the lady next to me in the helicopter had red laces so sometimes their reflection looks like fire! ]
It was a great experience all the same :) and the music they played inc star trek, james bond, jack johnson and hawaii 50 was brilliant! after this ride i went to the beach not a great beach and after about 40 mins it rained and thats when my next golden moment of the day happened a family were also sheltering from the rain and were having a sing song on the ukelele! Titanium and hotel california were on the play list! It was a lovely setting and a great hawaiian moment!
I then had a chat with them and went off for a pineapple thai curry on my own - yes i will look like a pineapple after this trip! It was the best curry i have ever had! I trusted the guidebook on this one as never jn a million years would one have chosen it from the location or look of it from the outside!
Oh another moment I forgot i got the dogs a present a hibiscus dog toy anyone want to guess how long teddy will keep it in one piece!
And finally when I got in my host was here :) a nice guy whose mum lives downstairs he was just off out so i probably wont see him again! Ive got a long drive tomorrow and may see some turtles who knows?! Xx
