Today has been a huge day. Mihoko dropped me off at narita at about 9am. I was already checked in so i went to the baggage drop and asked about an upgrade. The lady said yes and I got all excited but she just meant moving me to the exit row which turned out to be brilliant anyway. Even though the plane was pretty full I got four seats in a row to myself with plenty of leg room too. The first leg was 9:40 hours from narita to Helsinki. I got a huge headache towards the end and really felt terrible. Couldn't wait to get off the plane and breathe some fresh air.
Finally made it to Helsinki but didn't have time to see anything because the next flight left straight away. Two and a half hours to London went super fast because I just watched bbt on the iPhone the whole way.
On the transfer bus in Helsinki I got talking to a retired Japanese couple who I helped when they couldn't understand the English instructions at the gate. They were the fujitas.
In London customs and immigration was very quick and I was out of the arrival gate waiting for Dave by 5:45. Before he arrived I was approached by mr fujita whose luggage had not arrived along with his wife's. I ran around helping him find the right people to talk to which made me late meeting Dave.
Dave and I took the tube back to his place where corinne was making us sausages, peas and mashed potato. We also had cheese and crackers and some British ale. Corinne also whipped up a sensational trifle for dessert.
We had a wander around their neighbourhood even though it was raining, then came home to pack for Germany.
Went to bed early but woke up around 4am thanks to the time difference.
