Hi
Great Ocean Rd
We have now left melbourne and headed towards the Great ocean Rd. This is the coastal road that runs along the bottom of melbourne towards the west as you go to adelaide.
The first day was slow, it was raining and horrible, so we spend a lazy morning at st kilda then headed onto the road mid afternoon. first place we went to was Torquay and stayed in our first camp site!! we got the hang off emptying the waste and refilling the water quite quick!! but the next morning as we left we came across a bouncy mat thing in the playground. It was the most funniest thing ever. It was just like a big stretched out ball that you could bounce on. paula tracy and i were like kids jumping all over it doing tumbles etc.... it killed us though.. too much exercise for that time in the morning!!
Travelled to a place just outside lorne the next day, and picked up two french dudes on the way - blame keith for that, they only with us for like 15 mins!! but we stayed in a layby by a private beach. it was lovely but so scary. It gets so dark at night and so cold.. it was strange though waking up in a campervan parked on the side of the road. but we always make sure we are parked beside toilets so we dont have to use the one we have in our c.van.
Went to the 12 Apostles the next day - these are big rocks that have been formed in the sea over the yrs due to errosion or something like that. there were 12 yrs ago but are only 6 left!! it was a kodak moment if nothing else.... paula went on the helicoper tour around the sea... i didnt bother as i was on the helicoper in america and wasnt much!!
Horse Riding
headed back again towards melbourne and went horse riding in Airley's Inlet at a place called blazing saddles. They put us on a horse and left us to it. well there was one in the front of us but she left us to get the horse moved towards her direction.. that was a task in a half. My horse was called Tango. It was a windy day so the horses weren't their tamest to say the least. we trotted also. and i managed to do the whole lifting the bum of the seat while the horse ran.. saved myself from avery sore bum. my legs did kill though the next day i couldnt even cross them they so sore.
