Our day in Pyin Oo Lwin started well. Just about being able to stomach breakfast meant we were all firmly on our way to recovering from pond fish shizen housen.
Mopeds being our favoured choice of transport, we ride off to the Arisakan waterfalls. Once parked up, The walk down to the waterfall was one filled with dread, as we knew that with every step lay a perilous ascend on the way back. It was bloody steep in other words.
Anyway, that aside, once we arrived that harrowing thought was subsequently put to the back of the mind. The falls were worth every step. Me and April arrived first, Charlie was supposedly getting groomed at one of the beauty salons close to the hostel. When she arrived with the boys, (a disconcerting look on her face from the LACK of grooming she had actually received, a breakdown in communication being the guilty party in this instance) they exhibited a video in which the boys take part in some sort of Myanmar gladiators. With Charlie expertly and very diplomatically commentating on the contest, chin strap very prominent from the helmet she had failed to remove, it made for a hilarious watch. A few hours milling and frolicking in the aqua blue pools surrounding the falls, we start the dreaded climb. Ok it wasn't that bad. Just the unfamiliar task of having to exasperate energy for elongated periods of time....like 10 minutes.
That night we meet Sauri, peruse the night market, drink a few rums and wind down with some origami.
Train booked for hsipaw the next day we were all set for our next voyage.
