Hey everybody!.. Andy here!

We're here! It's 6:30am; day 3.

We flew into Trivandrum at 6am local time the day before yesterday to 33 degree heat and found a taxi to take us the 90min journey to the hotel..
there was a delay in getting the room sorted, and we finally got a bed after being awake for nearly 30 hours! We slept away the rest of the day, before heading out for food and going to a bar to listen to a local band perform Beatles covers.

The hotel is right on the coast. We're in a bit of a tourist area here so there's plenty going on. ..the roads here are manic! It took me a while to realise that people were beeping their horns constantly to warn others of their erratic driving and not through anger. You officially drive on the left, however it would be easy not to see that if nobody told you. There's also the obstacles of elephants, steam rollers, huge lorries jammed full of cattle etc.

I met a monk called Swamy performing yoga on the beach yesterday morning. I joined in for an hour and learned how to perform the Sun Salutation..going to meet him again at 7am today. He's insisted on calling me Ghandi (g-Andy).
There are 'beach dogs' along the coast that are friendly but spend all their lives by the sea. They have a knack of curiously coming over to see what you're doing when I'm trying the yoga.

I also went for a walk along the coast and did myself a bit of haggling. I've got some small things and some traditional clothes to use in Tamil Nadu.

The power is sporadic at best; there are intentionally-timed power cuts to limit usage. It's most notable at night as the fan turns off and the room quickly becomes a sauna. - I resorted to having a cold shower and wrapping myself in wet towels in bed last night.

Only one of the bars here has diet coke. I've been nipping in there a few times a day to fuel the habit and have made another friend who calls me 'diet coke man'.

Poor Stuart has already succumbed to a case of the Delhi belly. He had a rough night the first night but is much better now!
