Hello again!
Sorry it's been a while since our last update. We are in Cairns now - we got here last Thursday and spent a few days looking around. We went snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef which was good - swallowed a lot of water because the sea was quite rough (yes, it's raining again!) but saw lots of coral and nemos. We are hoping to go again this week if the weather is better.
We hired a little little little car and drove up to the rainforest at Daintree and Cape Tribulation and then on to the Atherton Tablelands. The rainforest was lovely - very humid and we spent a few days in Port Douglas which is a nice upmarket seaside resort (but you can't go in the sea because of the jellies, crocodiles, sharks......). Joe didn't see much of Port Douglas because he had man flu (he thinks he had Dengue fever not man flu so we will see!) but he says he is better now so don't worry! The Tablelands were good - up in the mountains inland from Cairns so it was a bit cooler. Lots of dairy farms and tea houses so we ate lots of cream teas! There were also lots of waterfalls and rivers which we will post the pictures of soon when we get them put on disc. Back in Cairns now until Friday when we move onto New Zealand.
Will let you know when we put more photos up - there are some of us horseriding on Magnetic Island (Joe's horse, Clyde, was a HUGE stallion (!!)) and of our little Dihatsu beast car!
Take care, speak to you soon,
Love Joe and Em xx
