After a long long flight over Paris and Algeria, I have finally made it to Africa. Getting of the plane was weird. Like so unreal you feel like you're not really going anywhere, but when you step outside and see all these people, you know you're far from home. It was a long wait through passport patrol and it was too hot. I felt all stuffed like I could not really breathe. After the nerves and the worries go away, I start to feel at ease, feeing calm and happy. I walk out to arrivals and get lost straight away not knowing where I'm going or what to even look for. I know typical me. So a nice gentlemen comes up to me and starts talking to me asking where I'm from and if I needed any help- he was airport patrol so it seemed like I could trust him. He helped me call up the company for me and helped me find them.. Only to find it was 20 meters away and he wanted a tip! So stupid and so typical, I was nice enough to give him 20 rands. He was like "You nice lady, we like friends." I didn't reply and just went to my group. All I can say was that it was an eventful but exciting first morning in Africa.
