Today we explored the area around our apartment. We walked through the Tuilleries Gardens looking at all the statues and sculptures. We found the trampolines and a great playground where Matthew and Ollie spent hours playing. In the afternoon we went on the big ferris wheel near the Louvre which gave us a fantastic view over Paris.

Today we left our camping ground early and drove back to Avignon to catch the TGV to Paris. We managed to avoid the crazy traffic which seems to affect the roads in the South of France from mid morning, and made it to Avignon with plenty of time to spare, so we drove around the old walled town in Avignon and the "Pont D'Avignon" from the children's song. We have made the best of our last few days in the South of France. Yesterday we drove to Frejus to go to Aqualand, a huge water park with lots of pools and water slides. Matthew and Oliver had a ball on the children's slides and Matthew was very keen to try out the big slides. Like everything in France in summer the queues were as impressive as the slides, but we did manage to find some slides which were open to children over 1 meter tall and without huge waitin...

Today we decided to take a day trip to the Verdon Gorge. The gorge formed by the Verdon river is also called "the Grand Canyon of Verdon" and it really an impressive place to visit. Although only 60 or 70 km from campsite the drive takes over an hour and a half each way, partly because the first part of the trip is on the infamous coast road which is wall to wall traffic and then at the other end the road is full of camper vans driving slowly along the windy wall...

Today we spent a leisurely day enjoying all the facilities that the Esterel caravan park has to offer. Matthew wanted to go back to the kids club to make some more friends, and Ollie decided he wanted to spend time with Dad at the pool.
