Howdy everyone,
Right, what have I been up to since i last updated...Went to the cinema on thursday night, saw Eagle vs Shark..a really good kiwi film, but the best thing was being able to drink in the cinema...made the whole experience much more enjoyable. After the cinema i met Sam after work and we went out to a few bars...got a bit messy, a few too many shots and pints...oh dear!!
Friday morning was a bit of a blur....slept in and didnt do much the rest of the day, just went for a walk to town, went into town for a few games of pool with another girl from the hostel, Jess, but wasnt a big night.
On saturday me and sam walked to Sumner, which we were told was about the same distance as New Brighton, turned out it was twice the distance...so 3 hours after setting off we finally got to the beach at Sumner. Was worth it though, a very nice little place and the views were stunning, sun, beach, sea and snow capped mountains! After about an hour walking around we were knackered..so got the bus back to town. Went out for a few drinks with Warren on saturday night, spent a fruitless hour trying to find a kebab....they just dont have them down here....theres a definite niche in the market there!
Yesterday I met up with Kelly and went for a walk round town before heading down to Jade stadium to see Canterbury play the 'Mighty' Manawatu. On the walk down 2 guys pulled up next to us (in a huge white mercedes..eek!!) asking if we were going to the rugby and if we already had tickets, which we hadnt. Turned out they worked for the local maserati garage and had some corporate tickets going spare, so we hopped in with them and they drove us down to the stadium.....great seats high up in the stands, best of all...FREE BEER!!! and free food!!! Corporate is definetly the way forward! I think it must have been my bright green Manawatu Turbos shirt that persuaded them to pull over...i was one of only about 10 manawatu supporters in the whole stadium. Not many to cheer on there only try of the game, they lost 64-10! By the end i was a bit worse for wear, luckily it was only 5pm, so had all evening to sober up.
Had a very quiet evening, and today im having another relaxing day, bit of reading, maybe a walk. Just booked another flight, staying in Christchurch until sept 4th, then flying up to Auckland.
Mum,Dad and Em, glad you had a good time, will ring you later!\
