Well hello again people WE ARE BACK. I know it has been a long time since our last update, but we did say that feb was going to be quite. We didnt get up to much in feb, worked, played and went to the beach. We so another brilliant fireworks display with the arrival of the QE2 and Queen Mary 2 in sydney harbour. Well the QE2 was in sydney harbour the other was 2 big and couldnt fit in, they were something else, they are massive. Apart from that, that is it for feb.
March came around very quickly and with the arrival of the 'macs' just around the corner the last few boring weeks at work was a dodle! Then on the 10th of march garry and yvonne came sprinting through the airport arrivals lounge doors with massive smiles. This was quite suprising as those of you who know garry, flying isn't his most favorite thing in the world, especially 23 hours of it, we thought they might have been very crabby, but no all was good. They were greeted by to very red faced silly idiots who had fallen asleep on the beach that day, opps!
The first week they were here we still had work to go to, so we just left them to get up to what ever they wanted to. We both left work on the friday and celebrated by going out for something to eat, we enjoyed some really ozzy meat by eating kangaroo! The last 12 days of the macnamara holiday we did as much as possible. Our first trip was to the blue mountains, a few hours out of sydney, which is totally different from the city. Here we made garry conquer more of his fears (heights) by going on 2 very high cable cars, 200ft drop below, and the worlds steepest incline railway track. The next trip involved the coast at port jacksen, we had more fine australian cuisine by eating shark, dolphine watching on a boat around port jacksen where we saw the beautiful bottle nose dolphine, with young. Then it was off on a sand saffari in a 4W drive up massive sand dunes, then it was time to sand bored, this is where the nick name Gray Nomads was invented, the guy running the trip called it them (meaning gray backpackers) because of how energetic they were running up the sand dunes to have go after go after go. They definatly had more goes than me and halyz. It was great fun, you got sand absolutely every where! That name will definatly stick when we get home. Our last trip was to cabberra the nations capital. We are glad we went just to see it but to even think of calling it a capital city is laughable in its self. The best way to describe it is if milton keynes was englands capital (sorry paul and em i am not dising the MK massive) but it is a purpose built city to be the captial with parliment house, nation art gallery, nation library etc..... no history at all, built around roundabouts and the grid system! We say SYDNEY 4 Capital There is a story about why it is the capital but i cant be arsed boring you all.
The rest of the days were involved around sydney, and we were lucky enough to be in sydney when the bridge turned 75. They had celebrations for it all day clossing it off to traffic so you could walk on it, there was fly overs all day including a jumbo, and it ended with a lighting display lighting up the bridge like never seen before, it was brill.
Our last adventure with the gray nomads was to walk over the harbour bridge, as you can imagine we did our fair share of winding them up, about the height of it and how scarey it was going to be. But dressed in our teletubby suits we made our way through, up, across and back down the bridge all in one piece, with no nastyness left behind in the teletubby suits. The view was amazing (check out photos for a laugh at wot they make you wear).
There was plenty of time spent on the beach, bondi and manly, were plenty of sun burning and sufing took place.
Then the dreaded day came where we had to say goodbye again, it was very hard and sad, it was brilliant sharing some of our adventure with them.
We both loved the video you all made for us although some of you (not mentioning any names) you no who you are need your heads examining. So thankyou for that, it makes us realise how much we miss you all.
As normal i am left to write the report while haylz uploads all the photos for you all to look at. She sends a very big hello and kiss to everyone, and i promise she can write the next one i am sure you all are fed up with with my bad grammer and spelling.
One last story, that we have giggled about all holiday was when garry robbed a begger. Waiting at the bus stop for the bus to bondi a guy in normal looking cloths asked us if we had 2 dollers we all said no but when he got to garry he held out his hand that had 2 50 cents and a couple of other silver coins in it and said have you got 2 dollers garry dug in his pocket pulled out a 2 doller coin placed it in the beggers hand then to the beggers amazment swipped the sliver coins from his hand. we couldn't help but laugh as the begger stud there in shock, and is wasn't untill yvonne told garry that he wasn't after swapping his change for 2 dollers, he just wanted 2 dollers. Garry quickly realised he had been done (sort of) by a begger took his 2 doller coin back and told him to get on his way. Absolute Gold!!!!!!! Very hard to put it in to words, hope you can picture it, coz it was very funny.
