The advantage to showing up at camp ground after dark is that it is a very exciting feeling to wake up and find out what is out there - and this even though little Jonathan woke up at around 6:30 am. Today we woke up in sunny Yamba, a small coastal town in New South Wales. The campground is called Blue Dolphins Holiday Resort so I had a small hope (and great wish) to see wild dolphins. So we headed off for a maybe last day on the beach. Bryan took a last surf before selling his board, the boys played happily on the beach, Jonathan took a nap, and I took in the sun. And then we all went dolphin spotting with our fingers crossed. But even in my wildest dreams I did not expect to see 10+ dolphins of which 4 were playing right in front of our eyes. An absolutely amazing sight on Yamba beach that leaves me with the feeling that our adventure is now complete.
Yet I am sure we have more events to come on the road towards Sydney that continues tomorrow.
