SOEXCITED!!! Loving singapore! So hussley & bussley and shiney! Shared a room with the hostel owners (cosey) they were very friendly... Next morning got a bus to Kuala Lumpur which broke down an hour into the journey. leaving us at some dirtyrandom roadside food hall (complete with squat style toilets) a kind malay man bought us icecreams :) after 3 AND A HALF HOURS a replacemant bus picked us up. Fiiinally got to KL and saw Jenny!! Couldn't believe we were actually there with her! So excited and happy to have her with us. Went for a drink at Reggae bar.
New Years Eve- We explore Kuala Lumpur 7 decided what to do in the evening. Had some lush malay food. In the evening we went to the Petronas (twin) towers - Jam packed! With performers on a stage in the middle of the lake doing dances in fancy outfits. Most bars were all booked up or had a minimum spend of about 40quid each for a couple of drinks! But right behind the towers we found a really nice bar with one table left and got ourselves some cocktails & pizza! Waiters were really friendly.. NOT 'are you familiar with the term HOY-YAH?!' Ordered a 2nd round of drinks that never arrived and they just wanted to get rid of us. It was nearly time for the countdown to were forced our way through massive hauds of people to try and get close to the lake. As the minutes ticked towards midnight the crowd errupted jumping around and screaming. The countdown was so epic and everyone was going mental! Then there was a 10 minute long firework display - amazing! Happy 2012!! We wandered the streets all lit up with christmas lights and sat by a fountain to cool our feet down. Lush night :)
1st January 2012
We walked alla round China town & markets. Jen haggled and got some bargains, pro barterer! Excited about Langkawi! started to sort transport and hostel but everything is totally booked up so we decided to go to Pangkor (Langkawi's little sister) Delux chalet for 7pound a night. sorted :)
Next day we got the bumpiest bus in the world ever - literally getting thrown out of our seats! After having to walk half an hour from the actual bus station to a little reject rickety old bus. Arrived in Lumut to get a boat to Pangkor, beautiful scenery and very excited now!
