Yesterday we went on a canoe trip up the lawn hill gorge within the national park. It was just amazing scenery but what was even more amazing was that issy tolerated being in the 'boat' and sat by herself the whole trip. There were a few moments of panicked tears but food was the perfect distraction. If we had been there pre kid, an afternoon swimming in the water hole under the waterfall would have been perfect. But this time it was enough to lump the canoe up to the next gorge and back. Two hours later we got back in time for lunch and sleep... This is definitely a place on our list to visit again!
We decided to be a bit more adventurous today and went for a bush walk. I'd be more inclined to call it a hike but it was only about 2km long. mind you 400 mtrs of that was straight up and that is not exaggeration! Issy was in the back pack - lucky stu! Was a little bit freaky but we made it to the top. The cover photo is the top of the cliff with the gorge just off the side and front. We had great views of the gorge and cliffs .
Our way back to the car we ran into Dianne and Geoff a couple we had met in tambo and keep bumping into along the way. They're headed up to the Kimberly as well but we may not cross paths again. It's good seeing familiar faces in some of these out of the way places though.
