We travelled from Mataranka to Roper Bar. Found the tiny store/fuel station and booked in for camping - paid $2.20/ltr for fuel! The tiny camp ground on the roper river had hot showers n toilets, walk to the river and plenty of guys catching huge barras!
Two guys went out early this morning and caught a 90 and 85cm barras - they wee committed and left camp before dawn.
We left roper bar about 10:30 to travel to Nathan river. We stopped by towns river for lunch and stu did a bit of fishing. After we'd been there for a while we noticed the small(ish) croc on the other side of the bank... Pretty sure it was a salty! Our first wild salty we've seen!
We ended up not stopping at Nathan river cause there didn't seem to be much there other than ranger station and moved onto lorella springs station , via butterfly waterholes and issy had a quick dip.
Lorella springs is lovely! I don't know of anywhere else there is a warm thermal pool running through our camp... Literally at the front door!
People here are lovely, put a movie on for the kids tonight. I had first shower with the 'donkey' hotwater system too! Issy loved it already too, not sure yet how I'm going to get her out of the water tomorrow to eat!
