Sat in Peppis seafront cafe enjoying a wonderful latte. Already had a full English breakfast to set me up for the day! The Girls have packed their cases and about to start their breakfast. We've got another 3 hours before our minibus pick up for the airport.
Yesterday we all took the short ferry journey across the harbour to the capital Valetta. Gave the girls 90 minutes to have a wander round and perhaps buy some souvenirs. Many very striking, historic buildings in the town, though lots of tourists - and very hot.
We all had lunch in town centre square. Our waiter, Emanuel, played for Valetta in the early 1970's against Leeds United in the European Cup ! A mid afternoon ferry journey back to Sliema and time for a litle more waterfront activity.
Next was a 6.45 minibus pick up for the 30 minute journey to Paola. All the Girls were beautifully turned out in their Blades On Tour T- shirts and soon found themselves joining in the lively and witty South Yorkshire banter sat in the middle of the Sheffield United supporters at the Hibernians v Sheffield United friendly game. Jet was persuaded to teach the Girls some of Blades chants - although she baulked at any ditties about Sheff Wednesday(apparanently they are a little rude - but surely no worse than the one about Steven Quinn?).
The game itself could have been more entertaining in truth. Hibs were stronger than we had anticipated and I for one will not be rushing to the bookies to put my wedge on the Blades going up on this showing (sorry Jet). The match finished 0-0.
There was time for a little R'N'R back in Sliema before settling down.
