Day Eleven
Booked two day tickets for the Hop-on-Hop off Bus trip. We wanted to see the Gugenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art that are located on the east side of Central Park. The bus trip was the best way of getting there, and we could take the bus to Lower Manhattan to Ground Zero.
The Gugenheim was bit of a disappointment. Half of the levels were closed for refurbishment and the displays weren't very interesting. I was told off by a woman for trying to take a photo of one of the exhibits....apparently it was forbidden. One warning and then you're out. We decided to leave and walk to the MMA.
MMA was the opposite; absolutely fascinating. Paintings from well known artists, period furniture, old religious relics, photography, and heaps more. The cost of entry is $25.00 but you can less if you want. We spent at least four hours there and had to leave to catch the last bus. So we didn't see everything.
After a takeaway dinner we jumped on the bus again for the night tour of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Twas a tad chilly on the top of the bus as we crossed over the river to Brooklyn. It's Friday night and all the streets, bars and restaurants were busy.
