Day Eight
The Big Apple. Just as busy and chaotic as we remembered it. Checked into the Hyatt Times Square (25th floor) before heading out for a walk. (Slight setback when the padlock on Karen's bag wouldn't open so we had to get a kind maintenance man to cut the lock with bolt cutters.)
Booked tickets to see the musical Matilda for tomorrow night - Lauren's suggestion. There a lot of plays currently running on Broadway starring well known actors (Glen Close, Matthew Broderick, Gretchen Mol). We may see one of them if time permits.
We saw an Irish Bar down the street when we arrived and decided we had earned a cold drink. (Aah, Blue Moon Belgian Ale-nothing like it!) A nice rooftop bar, very quiet and run by a real Irishman. Had a craving for real New York pizza and found an Italian place (Buca di Beppo). Excellent pizza and red wine at a reasonable price.
After we had a quick stroll around Times Square with the other 10,000+ tourists before heading back to the room.
