You can pick your fish (or squid or prawn) from a fishmonger. You can then pick your restaurant who will cook what you just picked for you and give you salad and garlic bread. Welcome to the fish market in Fethiye. I chose prawns cooked in garlic, butter and chilli. Bloody good.
Afterwards I wandered around the markets and picked up fruit (some of the most beautiful peaches I have seen), dried papaya, turkish delight and finally obtained an 'evil eye' charm (given to me by the guy I brought turkish delight off). The evil eye motif was everywhere I went in Greece and is everywhere in Turkey. It is supposed to ward off people who think bad things about you and protect you. So its nice to have one.
Our hotel was on the waterfront and had a partially excavated roman theatre behind it (there are ruins, and big ones at that, everywhere in Turkey). There are also Lycian tombs carved into the rocks.
As the next two nights were to be spent on a boat, much of my evening involved getting a bag ready for the boat and finding clean clothes-always an issue. Grand plan for the boat-live in bikini.
