Tokyo is insane. In an amazing way. I have been awake for about 22 hours.

Kristen found me easily at the airport, which was lucky as my global roaming appears to not work. This is despite vodafone's assurances it would be fine. And has i have tried to manually find a network etc.

Made it back to her place with minimal fuss. Had a gratefully received shower and then went for a wander around the nearby streets for food. Eventually we found a place that served standard japanese type fare like edamame, eggplant etc. all tasty. And all washed down with beer and cocktails.

I was then taken to what is now my favourite bar. It translates to 'clown bar' (bar Pierrot). The owner has hundreds of bottles of spirits etc. kristen was served a 2007 Chianti as the house red (which was stunning) and he made me a beautiful gin martini. He also prepared crepes and flambed bananas while behind the bar. The bar plays old movies and the owner's dvd collection of classic movies is impressive to say the least.
At the back of the bar is a fish tank which had jellyfish in it. Well, I thought they were. Turns out they were made of fabric and string but the way they were constructed, along with the way the water bubbled, meant these 'creatures' were lifelike in their movement. Would fool many a drunk person.

Time for sleep.
