Our introduction to Mykonos was, frankly, not great. Getting from the ferry terminal to our hotel was difficult. Mostly because the buses are inconsistent, hard to find and dont appear to allow luggage abd because there is a severe shortage of taxis. An hour and a half later after exhausting many possibilities and spending a kings ranson on telephone calls we got a taxi.
Luckily our hotel is beautiful. And has a pool.
The rest of the day was spent unwinding by the pool until it was time for dinner. We went to a little place in Ano Mera where we ordered too much again but as I finally got grilled haloumi I was rather happy (plus the house wine from a vineyard on Mykonos was cheap and served in 1 litre carafes). I also got to try deep fried sardines which are quite common here-mmmm eating baitfish.
